Of course, as we Catholics know, June is actually the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Given that complaints by Jansenist-influenced people at the dawn of this devotion was that it was just too carnal to be thinking about Our Lord's actual, physical Heart, I think the Sacred Heart is the perfect devotion to turn to in the midst of our sinfully carnal and deviant world.
St. Margaret Mary Alocoque, sometimes called the "Apostle of the Sacred Heart" because her visions of Our Lord led to this great devotion, wrote this short prayer to be said many times a day:
Invocation to the Sacred Heart
O Heart of love, I put all my trust in Thee; for I fear all things from my own weakness, but I hope for all things from Thy goodness. Amen.
I invite those Catholics who read this blog (and anyone else who wishes to do so) to join me in saying this little prayer daily for the month of June, particularly for the intention that those who are afflicted with same-sex or other deviant sexual desires find the strength and courage to follow Christ in all things.
