Because she made me laugh

As I've mentioned here before, our youngest, age 12, is an avid amateur cartoonist. Just about every weekday she comes up with a new adventure for her characters, Sneaky Ninja Dude and his aggravating sidekick Crazy Cat. Today's was especially funny, so I want to share it here:

That is so cute! My dd (10) likes to make comic strips too (she's a big TinTin and Asterix fan) and would probably be really interested in how to do it on the computer. Is there any info you can share about that?

Rebecca, my daughter uses Seashore on a Mac computer to do this. Don't know what other programs are out there!

The best part is "See!!" in the last panel. It cracked me up.

Oh good, very very clever! and I was going to ask if she used a computer program, my "just turned 13 today" boy and my 9 year old boy would LOVE that....my 13 year old does something called "mom and dad" comics because apparently my dh and I are just "hilarious". Ha ha. But that's a cool looking program.

Thanks, Red. I've actually been looking into getting a Mac laptop...just one more reason.

You can use a number of free basic drawing/image editing programs for Windows, if that's what you have. Microsoft's Paint program comes with Windows, if simple shapes and drawings are what you need. A couple other options are:

- GIMP
- Paint.net

Both are more robust than Paint, although GIMP has a bit of a learning curve. You can find tutorials and active forums for both programs.
