Oh, this is good. I have never understood the "I want to remain a part of an organization, but don't agree with its core tenets" thing. As the original "song" has it, "other churches try to schmooze me." okay, then go with one of them. Why keep up the pretense of being Catholic? Even if female ordination were allowed, a fundamental u destining of the Church and the priesthood would have changed, making the resulting entity no longer recognizable as the historic Catholic Church. These women are presented with only two choices. 1. Admit that they are not Catholic and join a mainline Protestant church that would ordain them yesterday. 2. Bring about the change they desire (impossible, I know) and cause the Church to be no longer Catholic. Common denominator? Lack of Catholicism.
This is great fun. Curiously enough, the old hippies who practice Play-Church-iness might not get the joke.
